For those who are accommodated in the center of Oporto, you can easily get to Vila Nova de Gaia on foot, simply by crossing the D. Luis bridge. This is also an opportunity to enjoy the two cities from another angle, enjoying the incredible view that both banks of the Douro offers us. The other option to get to Vila Nova de Gaia is through the yellow line of the subway, with stop in the Jardim do Morro (1st stop in Gaia).

Leaving the subway, we suggest the ascent of Serra do Pilar, where you can find the best views of the marginal and the city of Oporto. Then we suggest a stop at the Jardim do Morro and an incredible descent by cable car to the Pier Gaia.

Now, it’s time to enjoy a tasty meal in one of several restaurants on the pier. Our suggestion goes to the traditional “Tripas à moda do Porto” or the portuenses cheeses and sausages.

After this energetic lunch, you can continue the trip and we advise you to visit the Port Wine Cellars, where in the most of them, you can enjoy wine tests, of one of the best and more historical wines in whole world. You can visit, for example, Taylor, Fladgate & Yeatman Cellars during the afternoon and take the opportunity to have dinner in the Restaurant of the Yeatman Hotel, who recently won a Michelin star.

There are also other cellars that you can visit, including Ramos Pinto Cellars, Sandeman Cellars or the Real Companhia Velha Cellars.

Para quem está instalado no centro da cidade do Porto, facilmente pode chegar a Vila Nova de Gaia a pé, bastando para isso atravessar a Ponte D. Luis. Poderá visitar, por exemplo, as Caves Taylor, Fladgate & Yeatman durante a tarde e aproveitar a oportunidade para jantar no Restaurante do Hotel Yeatman, o qual ganhou recentemente uma estrela Michelin.
